Have you ever heard of the famous trolls by artist Thomas Dambo? This Danish artist has created giant wooden trolls<\/a> all over the world, using recycled materials. So when we found out there\u2019s an entire Troll Forest full of his creations in the De Schorre recreation area in Boom, Belgium, we were immediately curious. Time for an adventure to see these unique figures with our own eyes! <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Who is Thomas Dambo?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Dambo is a Danish artist and activist who creates amazing, giant sculptures made from recycled wood and other sustainable materials. His impressive trolls can be found in over 20 countries, often hidden in nature. With his work, he aims to surprise people and inspire them to live more sustainably. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His artworks tell stories that often connect to the place where they are located, and they invite you to explore nature. On his website<\/a>, you can even find a world map showing all the troll locations. It\u2019s like a global treasure hunt! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore the 7 giant trolls in De Schorre\u2019s Troll Forest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The De Schorre recreation area in Boom is best known as the home of the Tomorrowland dance festival. But there\u2019s so much more to discover! In addition to pedal boating, fishing and walking, you will also find the unique Troll Forest, where no fewer than 7 giant trolls are hidden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trolls are actually a gift from Tomorrowland. In 2019, the festival was held at the recreation area for the 15th time, and to celebrate the anniversary, artist Thomas Dambo was invited to create this amazing project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the start of the walk, you will find a map showing the approximate locations of the trolls. You can also download the map here<\/a>. It makes the search a bit easier, but it\u2019s still an adventure! Some of the trolls are quite well hidden, and the paths aren\u2019t always flat: you will often come across muddy sections. The ground here is clay, which was once excavated for the local brick industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
